Early in this episode, Andy can clearly be seen reading a Mount Airy newspaper, which is Andy Griffith's home town.
Woodrow (Woody) Chambliss, who plays Mr. Hendricks, the butter and eggs man, returns to The Andy Griffith Show as Harlan Robinson in Season 6, Episode 14, "The Church Organ."
The basic plot premise of this installment- Aunt Bee feigning interest in a man because, at Clara's insistence, her presence in the Taylor home is preventing Andy from finding a wife- was used before in the Season 2's "Wedding Bells for Aunt Bee."
In this episode Aunt Bee tells Andy and Helen that she will make rum tarts for dessert. In the Season 3 episode, "Aunt Bee's Medicine Man," Andy tells Barney that Aunt Bee doesn't even allow fruit cake in the house.
At the end of this episode , Andy reassures Aunt Bee that she will always be a part of the family and that if/when he and Helen ever did get married, nothing would change and that she would be staying with them. Aunt Bee seems very happy/relieved to hear this. However, in the first episode of Mayberry R.F.D., when Andy and Helen do get married, Aunt Bee prepares to move out of the house to go live with her sister, until she's offered the position of housekeeper by Sam Jones.
