The Bigger They Are
Hitchcoc5 December 2019
A new kid moves into town. He hooks up with Opie's friends and they start to get into trouble. He also taunts Opie and demeans him in front of the gang. Soon there starts to be some bad stuff going on in town, led by this new guy. Opie wants to fight, but being the Sheriff's son, he has to hold back. Barny gets his nose out of joint, of course, and assume all this expertise. It's pretty good all things considered.

Opie stands up to the new kid

Warning: Spoilers
In this is episode a new kid joins Opie and his friends and is just big enough to decide what they will do for 'fun'. He underestimated Opie and in the end Opie shows his toughness by not backing down.

One of the very best of the entire series
tweiss-673682 December 2021
An outstanding episode featuring a terrific performance by antagonist Steve Quincy, about the seriousness of breaking public property. Unfortunately this theme is severely undermined in later shows where Ernest T Bass is laughed at for breaking every window in sight. An incredible instance of utter hypocrisy in this wonderful series.

No laughs without Don Knotts & Clint Howard

Does give a good message to kids about being led astray by the wrong crowd. Other than Barney & Leon no laughs. Barney gives one of his funny monotone, tedious sermons that seem to never end. We get to see "Little Ricky" Richard Keith from I Love Lucy. Episode would be horrendous without Don Knotts' humor.
