This is the last episode where Barney and Thelma Lou are on screen together before their eventual breakup when Barney moves to Raleigh (because Don Knotts left the show).
This is the only episode of the series to feature both Betty Lynn (Thelma Lou) and Hal Smith (Otis Campbell). The two characters have no scenes together though.
In the conference call, the unincorporated community of Fancy Gap is mentioned. Fancy Gap, Virginia is a real community 15 miles north of Mount Airy, North Carolina on US Route 52.
Duncan's Hot Dogs (15¢) and Palmerton's Cafe were two businesses who' s signs were seen in the background. Those businesses were never seen or mentioned in the entire series.
The song that Skippy and Daphne dance to on the radio at the end of this episode, is the same song that the teens dance to at the end of the episode "The Senior Play," and the same song is played on the radio at the beginning of "Opie Finds a Baby."
