Who Are These Engineers?
Hitchcoc11 January 2020
The plot was somewhat interesting when it came to making a decision between the two factions. Both have good points. The stupidity of the episode come in the method used to right the foundation of the church. These things require a delicate balance and fortifications to make them work. I won't say any more. Ask anyone in the building trade.

Boring...
AudioFileZ10 February 2024
TAGS struggles to be as entertaining as it matures further. Not just without Barney missing an no character in sight that fills the void mind you. But with the scripts. This episode about how to spend some money in our subjects church just isn't entertaining. Forget funny too. This is one of the least appealing episodes in the entire run of the show. For me, Howard's suit with the mid-drift cross button brace was a highpoint (if you can believe that). Reminding me of 50's/60's fashion sense making no sense (I once had a corduroy jacket with that inane button thing). Well, as the shoe is nearing it's end it isn't making any strong case for it's continuance.

Ladies come off looking bad.
vitoscotti5 September 2022
$37.50 in 1968 money seems high for simple cheap robes. The ladies who all sew could have made their own robes for a pittance. Multiple versions could be made. Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier) came off bitter & mean especially for showing her teeth in the church. You'd think more research would go into the water dumping to make it failsafe. Elmo (Vince Barnett) was the funniest with the best bit about the pool table. Shame the Elmo character wasn't used more. Some interesting camera work as the series nears it's end. Rare TAGS dark humor in the daring epilogue from Emmett (Paul Hartman). Strong well written bounce back from two horrendous episodes.

These women are blackmailers
julejule-8483816 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was a horrible episode!! The women came off as mean, spiteful and threatening!

Aunt Bee showed her true colors in this episode, according to what the actors have said.

This was in church, and these women acted like teenagers, wanting their own way, ridiculous!!

Aunt Bee and none of the women apologized for their behavior. I thought there would've been a moral to the story at the end for how they acted they couldn't sing because they didn't have robes!!???

I agree with another person on here reviewer, that said these women all sewed. They could've bought their own material and made their own robes !!

Now I know why I stopped watching when Barney left , dumb, very unfunny!!
