Mayor Tong : [after Colonel Mongke invades the town] You! Avatar, do something!

Aang : Gee, I'd love to help, but I'm supposed to be boiled in oil.

Mayor Tong : [moves the punishment wheel to community service] There, community service. Now, serve our community and get rid of those rhinos!
Katara : Honorable Mayor, we've prepared a solid defense for the Avatar. We did an investigation and found some very strong evidence.

Mayor Tong : Evidence? Hmph! That's not how our court system works.

Aang : Then how can I prove my innocence?

Mayor Tong : Simple, I say what happened, then you say what happened, then *I* decide who's right. That's why we call it "justice." Because it's "just us."
Mayor Tong : You'll have to follow all our rules. That includes paying bail.

Aang : No problem.

[Cut to Aang in jail]

Aang : How was I supposed to know they wouldn't take Water Tribe money?
[last lines]

Mayor Tong : From now on, we'll celebrate a new Avatar Day, in honor of the day Avatar Aang saved us from the Rough Rhino invasion.

Sokka : [looking a bowl he is holding] What is this?

Mayor Tong : That's our new festival food. Un-fried dough. May we eat it...

[turns to address the crowd]

Mayor Tong : ...and be reminded of how, on this day, the Avatar was *not* boiled in oil.

Katara : [Halfheartedly] Happy Avatar Day, everyone.

Sokka : [Halfheartedly] Happy Avatar Day, everyone.
