  [laughs hysterically and you see the police watching him laugh while hooked up to the V.R. machine]

  [catching Barbara trying to call for backup] 

  Mad Stan : Go ahead, commissioner, make your call. I've wired the whole ballroom. No one gets out!

  [a batarang short-circuits his detonator] 

  Mad Stan : Grrr... . you fried it!

• Barbara Gordon : In the last four years, under my husband's leadership, the D.A.'s office has put nine organized crime chiefs behind bars, initiated a no-tolerance policy on unregistered guns, and reduced the plea bargain ratio of violent offenders, keeping them off the streets and in prison, where they belong.

  [applause]
