Quotes
-
Count Baltar : What do you want, Adama?
Commander Adama : Information.
Count Baltar : They found you.
Commander Adama : We found them.
-
[Baltar has just bartered his knowledge of the Cylons in exchange for freedom]
Commander Adama : Apollo, Starbuck, see you soon.
Count Baltar : Good luck.
[Apollo and Starbuck are taken aback by Baltar's response, but proceed to begin their mission]
Count Baltar : If they don't succeed, I die too.
-
Count Baltar : Destroy them? A basestar? Not likely.
Commander Adama : With your help.
Count Baltar : Why would I possibly help you?
Commander Adama : To regain your freedom.
-
Count Baltar : And when am I to be set free?
Commander Adama : After the basestar has been destroyed.
Count Baltar : What if they destroy you? And me along with you?
Commander Adama : Then that's the risk you'll have to take.
[Baltar realizes that Adama intends to keep him on the Galactica when she engages a Cylon basestar]
Commander Adama : Do we have an agreement?
[Baltar reluctantly shakes Adama's hand in agreement]
-
Commander Adama : Tigh, do you realise this is the first time since we fled the Colonies that we have the advantage?
[pause]
Commander Adama : But even if we didn't have the advantage, I'm tired of running.
Colonel Tigh : [deeply agrees] Adama... so am I.
Commander Adama : Then let's take her on. We do have one advantage - the element of surprise. And I intend to make to most of it.
-
Colonel Tigh : [the Cylon basestar has been destroyed] You did it, Adama!
Commander Adama : We all did it, Tigh, we all did it! Damage report!
Omega : It's extensive, Commander! But all fires are controllable, and the landing bays are intact!
Commander Adama : Thank God for that! Recall all Vipers!
-
Commander Adama : I'd forgotten all about that, er, celestial dome topside. What were you four doing up there?
Lieutenant Starbuck : [awkward pauses] Just taking in the view, Commander...
Commander Adama : [clearly surprised] Oh.
Colonel Tigh : What were you doing in that dome?
Cassiopeia : [clearly shocked] Colonel!
-
[last lines]
[as Starbuck and Apollo leave the dome, the equipment, inadvertently left on, receives another gamma transmission: a spacecraft approaching a barren, cratered surface, casting its own shadow upon it as it comes ever closer]
Buzz Aldrin : Bearing down three and a half. Forty-seven forward. Fifty down at two and a half. Nineteen forward. A hundred feet, three and a half down. Nine forward. Forty feet down, two and a half. Picking up some dust. Faint shadow.
[comm beep]
Mission Control : We copy you down, Eagle.
[comm beep, and another]
Neil Armstrong : Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed.
[standard ending shot of the fleet]
Commander Adama : [narrative] Fleeing from the Cylon tyranny, the last battlestar, Galactica, leads a ragtag fugitive fleet on a lonely quest: a shining planet... known as Earth.
-
Commander Adama : [Cylon base star looming] I thought we'd lost them for good.
Lieutenant Sheba : We all did, Commander.
