- Mitch Buchannon: One more win, and the Dodgers woulda won the pennant.
- [pause]
- Mitch Buchannon: Why would I say that? Could care less about the Dodgers.
- Ryan McBride: [typing away on her laptop] C'mon.
- [the office door opens. She looks over her shoulder toward it]
- Ryan McBride: Mitch? Teague. I don't have time for it right now.
- Diamont Teague: Actually, I want to talk to Mitch. About the incident.
- Ryan McBride: What incident?
- Diamont Teague: He pulled a boy from the surf. He was then struck by clear-air lightning. That's what I want to talk to him about.
- Ryan McBride: So?
- Diamont Teague: Ryan? Is he experiencing unusual brain activity? Various forms of kinesis. Heightened alpha waves.
- Ryan McBride: How did you know that?
- Diamont Teague: Then he has.
- Ryan McBride: Yeah.
- Diamont Teague: Where is he now, and where is the boy?
- Ryan McBride: I don't know. The boy ran away, and Mitch is out looking for him.
- Diamont Teague: I've got to find him. Where is he?
- Ryan McBride: I don't know. Wait a minute, how do you know all of this?
- Ryan McBride: Wait. Wait a second. You're not going without me.
- Diamont Teague: You can't go with me.
- Ryan McBride: Oh, really.
- [holds up the car keys]
- Ryan McBride: If I don't go, you don't go.
- Diamont Teague: You coming along for the ride, or are you willing to help?
- Ryan McBride: Let's see, I'm a scientist, you're gonna show me some aliens, what do you think?
