Mr. Simpson
Prismark1024 August 2023
A rather shifty person who calls himself Simpson calls into Nora Travers hotel. He wants two adjoining rooms but wants to check them out first.

Later Simpson is found shot outside Latigo. Clay Culhane brings him in and it seems he is a United States Marshall.

Later another man claiming to be a US Marshall also turns up. He tells Marshall Gib Scott and Clay Culhane that President Grant is due to turn up to Latigo and stay the night.

Simpson was here to secure two rooms for the President and it seems someone knew why Simpson was here.

The local doctor takes care of the injured Simpson. Clay and Scott look to keep the President safe after he arrives.

Only after the civil war, there are a lot less friendly faces in Latigo for the President.

This is very much a paranoid thriller, with several twists. There are not many people about a President can trust.

President Grant is due into Latigo and the pressure is on Clay and Marshal Scott to see that he gets there safely. Unfortunately, there are many who don't want to see this happen.

A Woman's Perspective
mitchrmp4 January 2013
In this episode, a man comes into the hotel and mysteriously reserves two rooms. When asked the name, he simply says "Mr. Simpson." Later, Mr. Jenkins is found shot outside of town. When Marshal Scott and Clay investigate further, they learn he is from the Secret Service. The two men who tried to gun him down are still at large.

Of course it doesn't take us long to figure out that the President of the United States, Grant, is due into Latigo. There is still a lot of hatred after the war; and a lot of people want to kill the ex-Union general!

The story has a few twists. People you think are good turn out to be against the President, but in the end we know the President comes out okay. Of course, it's all thanks to our Latigo heroes.

But still, four people die.
