**SPOILERS** If there's one thing the series Bronco is good at, it's getting the protagonist involved in almost everything west of the Mississippi; almost always to the detriment of history. This is no exception.

If anybody actually managed to get his body back to Texas (possible, I suppose) they must have disinterred him from the place they actually did bury him in Brenham. That aside, nobody ever challenged Bill Hickok again, and the fact was that he had inadvertently, and accidentally killed his deputy as a result of this exchange of gunfire. Bill was haunted by this for the rest of his life. Of course, even the renowned Ben Thompson did not want to mix it up with Bill, and he was Coe's business partner.

This episode might not have been a bad one, but why not actually use history as it happened? I refer the reader to Joseph G. Rosa's work "Wild Bill Hickok, Gunfighter" for more about this legendary figure. His investigations are noteworthy and very detailed.
