Who Killed The Killers, and why add a secondary story?
ccthemovieman-17 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Last week, in the first of this two-part episode, two couples were both killed, all having their throats slashed. Police and CSI have pretty much figured out the suspects, but a Liberal judge isn't helping their cause. Now - someone has broken into a house and killed the killers!

This latest crime scene is examined by the CSI crew. Extra cops were at the outside of the house watching the suspect but were called away on a wild goose chase. They are examined and cleared of any wrong-doing.

Meanwhile, Catherine and Sara are called off that case to go check a "bloated floater," a dead body at an off-campus house. There, they discover a really gruesome sight. A grotesque, bloated dead body - which I'm surprised was shown on TV - lies in a bathtub. The other roommate (s) had been away for a few days, only to come back and discover this mess....and it is a mess. What happened here? It turns out that sports bars can be dangerous places!

Back to the original case, without spoiling anything, it turns out to be a puzzling case that almost has Brass and Gil at odds, but they solve it.

It's not as riveting as a two-part story should be, but it was still interesting. Diverting this main story with a short secondary one was puzzling. Why? All it did was take away from the intensity and continuity of the first one. If its worth having two programs to cover a crime, don't dilute it without another one at the last minute.

Grissom and Capt. Brass find Cameron and Mandy Klinefeld murdered, each one with one shot. The two undercover officers that are in steak-out of the Klenefeld house become the prime-suspect. Meanwhile, Catherine and Sara are assigned to investigate the death of the college student Daniel O'Hannissey in the bathtub in the house he shares with other college mates. The decomposed corpse indicates that he died a few days before. They lean that Dan was a sport fan and the last place he was seen alive was in a sport bar.

"All for Our Country" is another good episode of "CSI". The murder of the couple serial-killer is the lead one, with many twist and suspects. The murder of the college student has a gruesome beginning and is well-resolved by Catherine and Sara. My vote is eight.

Title (Brazil): "Tudo Por Nosso País" ("All for Our Country")

Note: On 26 December 2022, I saw this episode again.

All Over the Place

In the first half, the two baddies are found with their throats cut, dead. So we move on to part two. It begins with the discovery of a big boy, bloated in a bathtub. This is one of those CSI gross-outs that don't seem entirely necessary. I guess it appeals to teenage boys. Finding who killed him uses pretty decent methods. We also have the continuation of the story of the two serial killers who were in the first half. Why were serial killers killed, using the same methods they, themselves, used. There are some interesting miscues made by Grissom, accusing a veteran police officer (who is certainly a violent jerk) and a liberal judge who often stands in the way of justice. The central figure is Las Vegas, where different rules apply--or don't.
