Good Story
moonchildiva20 November 2007
Racist/Drunken/Criminal Richard Rust as Coley Baker begins this episode harassing Mexicans in a bar. That's all he gets to do before he's stabbed to death in the back hallway. DARN. But then, the story actually does get good. After recovering from my initial disappointment in Rust's FAST appearance on screen, I found myself immersed in the story that concerned a business owner, the people who work for him and the owner's secrets. Still, I wish Rust had been in it a little longer. Part of the story is about who killed him, because a young Mexican worker whose wife is about to deliver their first child is the main suspect. Anything with Glenn Ford in it is OK by me! I slightly recall this show but at the moment I only have two episodes, and Crisscross is the only one I've watched.

Man On The Run

It's looking like your ordinary barroom incident that escalates into a homicide. Loudmouthed bigoted truck driver Richard Rust starts picking on Chicanos at a bar in Madrid County, particularly Richard Yniguez. Later on when Rust is found stabbed to death in a motel in town, Yniguez is looking real good for it. But sheriff Glenn Ford suspects a little more to it though he has to check out Yniguez.

Our suspect has more than the law for a problem, the real killers of Rust would like to silence Yniguez and Yniguez's wife, Linda Dangcil is expecting any day now. In fact when her water breaks it causes Glenn Ford to stop pursuit of Yniguez and help the very pregnant lady.

Crisscross has as its main guest stars James Gregory as the blow-hard owner of the ranch Yniguez works on and whose sideline business is the real reason for all the problems and Rudolfo Acosta who usually played Indians in American films, but here plays a sympathetic and concerned Border Patrolman. Acosta is best known for playing John Wayne's murderous antagonist Silva in Hondo.

It's a good episode of the sadly short-lived Cade's County series.
