A failed pilot starring Frank Lovejoy.
planktonrules2 June 2018
Frank Lovejoy was a very popular TV actor in the 1950s, though he made only a few films and died relatively young. It's a shame...he was pretty good and often played interesting and gritty characters.

Here in "Chicago 2-1-2", Lovejoy plays a fire investigator. The plan was to make a television series out of it...but the networks never picked up the series. And, like was so often the case, eventually the pilot episode was shown on another show. No use not trying to recoup the cost of producing the pilot!

The show is just okay. Nothing particularly outstanding but nothing poor either. The only interesting thing about it was the deaf lady...you don't see deaf characters very often on TV...particularly back in the 1950s. Watchable but nothing special.
