Solid early episode from the series, though the Angels haven't quite found their characters yet...

After a hijacked charter plane owned by a bigwig in Mazatlán crashes on US soil carrying a shipment of heroin, the injured pilot hires Townsend Investigations to find out who the smugglers are and to uncover the identity of their powerful contact, a man known only as Escobar. It's "Angels Down Mexico Way"! Sabrina poses as a stewardess, Kelly a girls' boarding-school teacher, and Jill a swim instructor (seems the wealthy owner of the charter company has a daughter who needs work on her finishing kick!). Although the plot deals with a dangerous smuggling ring of smack dealers, this doesn't stop our Angels from attending a glittery cocktail party or sitting poolside looking fabulous. The camaraderie between the three (Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith, and Farrah Fawcett-Majors) is a bit stilted, curiously; this could be the fault of the director, or perhaps the ladies weren't fully into their characters. Nevertheless, each gets her showy slice of the pie, and there are some juicy moments: Farrah coming onto a hairy number after she's caught red-handed in the wine cellar; Kate knocking on the door of the covert heroin lab and feigning a need to use the phone. Still, the climax at the L.A. marina seems a little awkward (with Jill batted around like a pinball) and the tag is too rushed to tie up the story satisfactorily.
