Gone to a better place
owlaurence24 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Lots of episodes in this 7th season have left me slightly disappointed, but this one certainly doesn't. It seems that, unbelievably, the Avatars were genuine. Their brave new world is perfectly happy now. Even Paige seems to cope with her loss very, very well, and only Leo seem worried... and switches sides again, now allying himself with the hilarious Zankou, who honestly doesn't look like much of a threat except for his own sidekicks. At first it is a bit difficult to see what has Leo so distraught. Granted, Paige isn't grieving as she should be, but this isn't the creepy happy world of It's a Bad, Bad, Bad World. Gradually though, the realization that the Avatars are actually cheating by literally *removing* conflict becomes scary.

I find it beautiful that the only sister Leo can turn to in his despair is Phoebe, the former empath. His self-sacrifice is a poignant moment in the season, so moving that, sincerely, I was disappointed that he was brought back by the end of the episode, which negated his altruistic move. And since we're talking about comebacks, yay for Kyle. It's a pity he couldn't stay, though, he was an interesting character.

So the only flaw that really keeps this episode from getting a 10 is the final confrontation with the Avatars. You know, that big, astonishing fight after the Avatars refuse to bring the old world back ? That major, brilliant scene when the sisters have to fight for their lives ? The one that is *totally missing* from the episode ?!! Seriously, what kind of power is that ? Three girls barge in on the big meeting, say they liked it better before, and the Avatars just go "OK" ?? Apart from that, this would have been worthy of a season finale, but come on !

The Avatars & Perfecti are The Same
karolinecelis14 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I've done some speculating and watch both versions of the show. I didn't grow up watching the 90s version of the Charmed series. Therefore, I was born a month before the release air date of the show in October 1998, so I didn't get a chance to watch, and now I am turning 23 in 2021, and gotten chance to watch the 90s Charmed series. Gosh I miss the 90s. I recognize some differences, and familiarities. Instead I want to share something interesting which is on the same topic for season 7, episode 13 of the Charmed.

The Avatars and Perfecti are the same. Due to having the same intentions they want to rid the world, and underworld of evil. They want to bring safety, security, and utopia for the world, and magical world. However, they made a mistake there's an imbalance of good and evil. The Avatars disrupted the balance so they can rid of all evil, and it includes humans in the Charmed if they had any bad intentions of hurting anyone. The guy who complained to a police officer he has the right to be angry, and he could take to court, and probably sue the police officer for not understanding the man.

This was something the Avatars did to rid of evil and humans with intentions of hurting others. Unlike the Perfecti from the 2018-2021 series it's an on going show. The Perfecti are perfect magical beings whoever created them, and create the system, and keep the dimensional monsters, and they're from ancient times before humans locked away, and it's called the Tomb of Chaos and the Perfecti creates rift as a portal to the tomb of chaos.

They had an episode where they tried to destroy the Charmed ones, which makes them bad, and the Charmed found out the Perfecti are vulnerable to something that is undead, and made out of clay. Without going into the details the Perfecti takes care of the dimensional monsters were put away for thousands of years for the Charmed ones after being cured, and founding the artifact from an old site. Without going too in depth I won't be explaining more into the other episode from the other version of the Charmed series.

The weaknesses the Perfecti and Avatars have in common is they have no humanity, shows no human emotion, and compassion for others, which is the reason why they want to rid of evil, except the Perfecti they can only handle monsters from the tomb of chaos not demons, ghosts, or any of that matter. So they may have hard time dealing with demons, and anything supernatural, and probably never seen them before being the Perfecti are ancient, and older before the existence of humans in the Charmed series (2018-2021) version.

Overall, this episode was interesting and caught my attention showing their true nature the Avatars lack human emotions, compassion, and humanity. If the Charmed ones can convince the Avatars they'll restore balance of evil and good. Because the Avatars will cause an imbalance of there being no evil in the world. Without either one of them both good and evil will dissipate into nothingness.
