The One Where Paige Loses Her Guardian Angel...
taylorkingston4 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. I love Kyle in it and I love how Paige loses her Guardian Angel. It's just so funny to think that witches have someone watching over them.

In this episode, Kyle believes that someone is stealing peoples Guardian Angels. So he, Paige and Phoebe go to a burning building, because Kyle believes that that's the next place a Guardian Angel will be stolen. A man miraculously survives the building, only to be hit by a bus, after his Angel was stolen by a demon. Whilst trying to get the demon to reveal himself, Kyle puts himself in danger, but the demon decides to steal Paige's Guardian instead. Why not have a powerful Charmed One's Angel. It's got to pack a bigger punch that just a mortals. Paige is absolutely lost without her Angel, and she keeps tripping and falling down the stairs. The sisters manage to lure the demon to their house, and vanquish him, but not before Phoebe and Piper are killed. Leo is devastated, obviously, and goes to the Avatars. He becomes one in exchange for them giving him the power to heal the sisters. In the end, everything is okay, except Leo is now keeping secrets and is a being that no one understands.

Overall, I give this episode a 9 out of 10.

Guardian Angel

Warning: Spoilers
Agent Brody is on the hunt for a demon killing innocents to steal their protective angels. I find it amazing he found proof of the supernatural by technology yet the cleaners nor Libris show up to cover traces of magic and it may be due to them needing the witches on his trail. Also just like in season five I find it ridiculous that once they are gone all of a sudden you trip and have accidents automatically. It should be gradual to build up tension letting is know how really important they are to everyday light.

Another aspect is Leo going on a vision quest to see Chris who tells him that he's play and how he survived war world II to become a great father letting go the intense feelings he possesses. Yet I don't see why he takes the Avatars offer as he made peace thus undermining the whole process. I find it very invigorating how Leo does use his new power to save his family from demons yet I find it as another excuse to put the sisters in life & death situations only to resurrect them.

Bad day for angels

Warning: Spoilers
O-kayyy... so Leo hasn't been himself recently. The whole dream-quest idea is coherent, and I rather like the explanation that is given (and the fact that Chris himself -the older one- delivers it). But STILL. How can Leo buy the Avatars' arguments so very easily, right when he seemed to be back on the right track ? Even Cole denied them for months, for crying out loud ! and he only gave in when he was beyond desperate. The best explanation that can be given here is that Leo is just choosing the easy way out, and even then it still looks as if this has already been done.

As for the guardian angel plot, it isn't stupid, but it is confused and confusing. So now magic can be seen on camera ? And why would Brody be interested in the fate of fire victims ? More to the point, aren't Whitelighters supposed to BE those guardian angels ? It looks as if the scriptwriters are ignoring several rules of the Charmed world just to implement a plot they like, which isn't right. Still, Paige's and Brody's investigation is interesting ; they make a totally reckless, potentially catastrophic, but really likely team.

Slowly losing interest this time.

Warning: Spoilers
Just like I did back when it aired on TV. Episode 5 was really good and gripping, while episode 6 would've been too, if producers didn't make a fool out of us with these insulting « special effects ». I know they wanted the show to appeal to a larger audience. But still, these CGI monsters looked ridiculous. Episode 7 is the one I had the hardest time watching. This Avatar thing is boring and convoluted, and the overall episode was slow. And having The Donnas as special musical guests, couldn't redeem that. I think the Utopia storyline worked best on Angel, but it's clearly not cast in the same mold as Charmed. And the only good thing about this plot, is to have Leo and Brody's storylines related to it. Like I said, I'm slowly losing interest, which is weird because I genuinely enjoyed the first episodes of season 7. And thought Nick Lachey was a good addition to the series.
