- What is... Jeopardy! (1984)? The answer is the show that is coming to Boston for a one-time only appearance and that Cliff has made it on as a Boston-based contestant. Cliff is cocky about his chances of winning. He is even more sure of winning after he sees the Jeopardy! board topics. An incident at game itself makes Cliff question his long held fascination with the game. A subsequent personal meeting later with Alex Trebek at Cheers restores his faith in what he can do for the overall good of mankind... or at least anyone who watches Jeopardy! Meanwhile, Sam's little black book is missing. Apparently the current holder of the book is working his way alphabetically through the book, calling up women and making dates as Sam to meet them at the roller rink, with the women to wear a black leather mini-skirt and French cut panties. The mystery person is currently at the H's and so Sam enlists Rebecca's help to set a trap for the mystery man.—Huggo
- Sam is surprised when one of the girls in his little black book calls him, claiming he was late for their date. Sam doesn't recall making a date with her, only to find something even more shocking: his little black book is gone!
Soon after, Sam receives more calls, and it soon becomes apparent that whoever stole his book, is going through the list of women alphabetically.Sam manages to coerce Rebecca to help him, and they soon find that the culprit is a school boy, who wants to be like Sam...aka, 'a babe-hound.' Sam takes pity on the kid, and simply accepts back his little black book.
Meanwhile, Cliff has taken a test, and will be on a Boston-broadcasted episode of 'Jeopardy.' Norm and Woody go to watch, and it seems that Cliff has it in the bag with the different categories. However, he takes a wild guess and bets it all on the final Jeopardy category, losing.
Cliff sadly returns to the bar afterwards, but is surprised when Alex Trebek shows up. Cliff assumes Alex is there to apologize and give him his winnings, but Alex tells Cliff that his rather unorthodox answer has made him wonder if he should quit being the host of Jeopardy.
This causes Cliff to persuade Alex to stick with the show, and when Alex agrees, Cliff eagerly tells his 'friends' that "He saved Jeopardy." in truth, Alex just wandered into the bar by mistake, and upon seeing Cliff, needed to find some way to get out of talking with him.
