- Sue Ellen Ewing: You do have a way of popping up at the oddest times.
- Cliff Barnes: Like a defective toaster?
- J.R. Ewing: What do you want out of this, Mr. Haynes?
- Ed Haynes: Pamela.
- J.R. Ewing: Well I'm afraid you got the wrong Mr. Ewing. You see, my brother Bobby is married to Pamela. But I wanna assure you I will help you to see that justice is done. The Ewings would never turn their backs on a veteran.
- Ed Haynes: Pamela?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Yes?
- Ed Haynes: Don't you remember me?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: No.
- Ed Haynes: Well you should. I'm your husband!
- Aunt Maggie Monahan: [about Digger Barnes] I never knew a man to fall asleep standing up and looking right at you.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [they can't find wedding annulment document] What am I gonna tell Bobby?
- Cliff Barnes: You don't tell him anything. It can wait a day.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [shakes her head] I can't do that.
- Digger Barnes: Now, you tell him that your father has the papers. They gotta be here somewhere.
- Jock Ewing: J.R., what the hell are you talking about?
- J.R. Ewing: Maybe you'd better tell him, Pam.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [near tears] Oh, is that all you have to say? A stranger walks in off the street, tells you some lies about me, and you're serving them up for supper?
- J.R. Ewing: Well, if they are lies, it's the best damn lies I've ever seen, backed up by some pretty good documentary evidence. I had a copy of the marriage license made...
- [hands it to Jock]
- J.R. Ewing: in case you have to go to court, Pam.
- Jock Ewing: This is ten years old.
- [hands it back to J.R]
- J.R. Ewing: Yes.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: Of course, you knew about that, Bobby?
- Bobby Ewing: [trying to save face] Yes, I do. Pamela... told me some time ago.
- J.R. Ewing: Did she also tell you she is still married to him?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [yells tearfully] I am not! It was annulled! I was just a kid!
- Bobby Ewing: Daddy, that project was my idea. I knew Sue Ellen was on that church committee, and I just used a little family influence, that's all.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: Now, Bobby was doing his best with it. The school for wayward boys is very important. We raised a considerable amount of money.
- Lucy Ewing: Sue Ellen...
- Sue Ellen Ewing: What, Lucy?
- Lucy Ewing: Can I visit?
- Sue Ellen Ewing: Visit what?
- Lucy Ewing: The school for the wayward boys.
- [Sue Ellen suppresses a smile]
- Miss Ellie Ewing: [Bobby and Pamela laughs] Lucy!
- [J.R. chuckles heartily]
