No, Julia. Diana is NOT the future queen of England.

Warning: Spoilers
A conversation about the royal family has B. J. and Carlene getting some good wisecracks about the queen's children, while Bernice makes observations about why Julia hasn't worn the Madonna brazier she bought her. Lots of distractions from the two plotlines, one involving Bernice's cataract surgery, and the other concerning Mary Jo's dog Brownie who may need to be euthanized. The two stories intertwine over Bernice overhearing a conversation about Brownie and misunderstanding the issue, thinking that they want euthanize her. Brownie, the never seen dog (the equivalent of Suzanne's maid, Consuela), has been through so many flea dips over the years that he's a part of the Sugarbaker family, and it's sad no dog ever got to step into the part. Good interactions between Anthony and Bernice, and some good lines, but the plotlines are too easy to wrap up, minimalizing conflict.

Being a Bernice Episode, It Should Have Been Better

Not one of Season 7's worst, but not among the best either. Alice Ghostley deserved better for a Bernice-centric episode. The main beef I have with this one is that the misunderstanding makes no sense. Why would Bernice assume the ladies are talking about euthanizing HER when the conversation she overheard distinctly refers to Mary-Jo's dog Brownie as male. Sloppy writing if you ask me.

Mama's Family did this plotline much better a few years prior.
