Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Very dark. To deal with the problem of the constantly growing poppies, Earl's task force decides to coat the planet with weed killer. While this stops the poppies, it also kills all plant life on earth. To resolve this problem, they decide they need rain, and in order to create the clouds to make the rain, when Earl gives the word, they drop bombs into volcanos. This does create the clouds, but instead of rain, it generates snow. Temperatures drop rapidly and it is said in a news report that it will be "tens of thousands of years before the sun shines over Pangea again." Essentially, the characters' fates are all sealed by the episode's end, and they most likely and eventually die off-camera. The last scene of this episode is very emotional and is VERY emotional, frightening, and upsetting to younger viewers, to see these beloved characters succumb to such a dark fate on what was before a very light-hearted, satirical family show.
