Where's Donna?
westernone1 August 2012
Warning: Spoilers
It's fairly obvious from the start this is a contrived "Save" by Screen Gems for a pilot. This was in the middle of the Doctor cycle, when the hot new shows were Dr. Kildare, Ben Casey and The Nurses. This pilot would be for a different kind of medical series, a folksy old guy with a Japanese nurse, in Hawaii. While the now well into high school and college age kids happily accept the equivalent of a sitter while they go off on a fabulous vacation,Donna and Carl then practically stand in the background as the story of a psychosomaticly injured girl unfolds. That she's from Hilldale, and so justifies the Stones at bedside is pretty flimsy. Well, the pilot didn't sell, so we see just what another show that never was might have been like.
