The Rise and Fall of Garfield
Michael_Elliott19 May 2016
E! Mysteries & Scandals: John Garfield (1999)

Jim Beaver (biographer), Robert Nott (biographer), Julie Garfield (daughter), Larry Swindell (author), Joe Bernard (friend), Vincent Sherman and Abraham Polonsky (screenwriter) are among the people interviewed as they discuss the rise and fall of actor John Garfield.

Garfield was a tough kid from the streets who quickly made a splash in Hollywood before getting blacklisted during the most controversial period in Hollywood history. This episode does an extremely good job at talking about Garfield's career and especially when covering the last couple years of his life when the stress was building up. Fans of the series and the actor will certainly enjoy hearing about the legend and especially since you get interviews with his daughter and people who worked with him.

Episode: B+
