Marie at her Passive Aggressive self
Christmas-Reviewer17 June 2019
Review Date 6/17/2019

I Have Reviewed OVER 500 "Christmas Films and Specials". Please BEWARE Of films and specials with just one review! For instance When "It's a POSITIVE" chances are that the reviewer was involved with the production. "If its Negative" then they may have a grudge against the film for whatever reason. I am fare about these films.

A Christmas photo turn into a huge fight because Marie doesn't consider Debra's parents as family witch really hurts Deborah.

I'm with Ray
Barry01694 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
As usual, everyone (except for the children) behaves childishly in this episode -- which adds to the humor. However, this is one of the episodes where I really disliked Debra. Ray set up a family portrait for the family. This is a Barrone family portrait. Debra's parents are not Barrones. Debra was pushy, manipulative, unreasonable and completely unlikeable.

Ray is a jerk!
tinlizzy085 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
At first I thought Debra was wrong in inviting her parents to be part of a Barone Family Picture. She still was kinda, and what they should've done is have one Barone Family, one with Ray, Debra and the kids with Debra's parents. But then after watching spineless, selfish Ray throw Debra under the bus AGAIN by refusing to even consider spending part of Christmas with her parents, I was like go for it Debra. Ray took away your being able to spend time and let your parents share in the joy of the kids opening their gifts with his selfish, bratty, his parents only attitude, so yeah give it back to him. Ray never ever backs Debra up, because he's a selfish, wimpy main chlld who is very much self-centered and all about him. Then of course Marie with her oh woe is me, and the whole Barone family ragging on Debra's parents like they are oh so perfect. Best part was Robert's imitation of selfish Ray, he is the best character!

A kind of episode that is hard for me to enjoy
puzgolac16 October 2023
This is the kind of episode that is hard for me to enjoy, and there are quite a few of them in this show. (And not only this show; it seems that every sitcom has them, it is just that some have more than others.) Of course, no character in this show is perfect and that is an important part of what makes it funny. I enjoy the characters' flaws and quirkiness, but not when they are dialed up to 11, as is the case in this episode. When a character is deliberately being rude, obnoxious, spiteful or similar, I don't find it funny, just awkward and unfunny. There are a few OK jokes in this episode, but Marie is being absolutely obnoxious, and Ray, Debra and Robert are not far behind.

I'm with Debra
Pianoboi846 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Ray is manipulated into having a family portrait done for his awful parents for Christmas. As usual, Marie is acting like a bratty child and she's furious because Debra invites her parents along who are also family. Marie is the worst mother and ruins the entire experience. Ray is such a wimp. He should cut his parents off...they are incredibly toxic. Debra isn't so innocent with her feminist outbursts and abusive hitting but in this particular episode she was correct. Her parents are cultured and intelligent and Marie should be honored to be around them. This was a low point in the series and shows how low class most American families can really be.
