A strong episode with little to laugh about

Warning: Spoilers
Having remembered where he heard the word Katratzi, John and Scorpius head back into the wormhole and return to the alternate Moya to ask Sikozu-Stark about the word. He says he has no knowledge of the word; he never remembers what he says as he helps people cross over. Scorpius promptly shoots and kills Rygel but that is no help; Sikozu-Stark can't cross over everybody; just those he loves. John knows one such person but will he be able to kill Aeryn-Chiana to get the information he needs? While this is going on Aeryn is captive aboard a Scarran ship; here she is undergoing torture; the Scarrans are initially keen to learn where Crichton is; then when they learn of her pregnancy their questions turn to the paternity of the child.

Over the course of four series viewers have come to expect a level of humour; there is little to laugh at here though as we seen Aeryn and other prisoners tortured is some particularly gruelling scenes that are amongst the most shocking in the series to date and John's mission leads to the deaths of some innocent people on the alternate Moya... yes they were going to die anyway but it still seeing them die this way was a surprise but served to show how far they are prepared to go to find Aeryn. Claudia Black put in one of her best performances here; playing both the tortured Aeryn and Aeryn-Chiana who suddenly learns she is going to die. The one moment of humour in the episode was Anthony Simcoe's reprisal of his role as D'Argo-Jool... and even this ended badly for the character.
