Warning: Spoilers
This episode begins where the previous one ended; with Crichton about to be attacked by the wormhole serpent. He manages to ward it off with his pistol. Having survived that he tells the others how the recording made in the wormhole includes a clip of 'The Three Stooges' proving that the wormhole must pass within forty light years of Earth. We then learn that Moya isn't as badly damaged as supposed; the aliens are sabotaging her and adjusting reading so that she looks unsavable as they know that Moya's crew will only abandon her if they are convinced that she is doomed. When the crew figure this out they do indeed work to confront the aliens and save Moya... they can't all be saved though; somebody will have to activate the generator on the alien ship and whoever does that will not survive.

This episode was both exciting and tragic; it is the tragedy that works best though. Up till now no matter how bad the situation Moya's crew have come up with a solution where they all survive; not this time though: this time somebody who has been with the series from the beginning will not survive. It is a positive act of self-sacrifice that does at least give the crew time to say their farewells and possibly for the viewer to shed a tear or two. Virginia Hey had done a fine job in the series up till now; it was a shame that she had to pull out of the series due to health issues caused by her blue makeup. I just hope that the loss of such an important character doesn't change the feeling of the series too much.
