  The Trickster : [showing the handcuffs on his wrists]  Restrained? What do you call these, costume jewelry?

  Denise Cowan : Jesse, shut up! It's bad enough you insist on wearing this ridiculous outfit in court. Don't blow this for the both of us.

  The Trickster : What, and disappoint my loyal fans?

  Denise Cowan : You don't have loyal fans. The only person on your side is me! And that's starting to look like a real bad career move. Your Honor, defense requests a change of venue.

  The Trickster : Are you nuts?

  Denise Cowan : I see no way that my client can get a fair trial in Central City.

  The Trickster : Leave Central City? You are crazy! I love this town. And it loves me. Why, look what I've done for it!

• [Jesse has taken a bailiff's gun and tried to shoot his lawyer, but the bailiff gets in the way and is shot instead] 

  James Jesse : Sacrificing yourself for a lawyer? Time to rethink your priorities, bub.

  The Trickster : This is all your fault!

  Megan Lockhart : [punches Trickster]  You're getting to be a drag, Jesse. And I am bored stiff.

  [kicks him and punches him again] 

• Denise Cowan : Jesse, remember what I said.

  James Jesse : Oh, yeah. Maybe I should be defending myself.

  Denise Cowan : Don't be a fool.
