Quotes
-
Betty Rubble : As long as we're standing in front of the Rubble residence, would you like to come in for a while?
Wilma Flintstone : Thanks, Betty, but it's sort of late. We told Mrs. Sitstone we'd be home early.
Fred Flintstone : Yeah, and we can't get the babysitter mad. Well, good night, Barney.
Barney Rubble : Good night, Fred.
Fred Flintstone : Good night, Betty.
Betty Rubble : Good night, Fred.
Wilma Flintstone : Good night, Betty.
Betty Rubble : Good night, Wilma.
Wilma Flintstone : Good night, Barney.
Barney Rubble : Good night, Wilma.
Bird in Tree : Good night, already. Gee!
-
Barney Rubble : I think you're doing Fred an injustice, Wilma. I mean, I know Fred, and he isn't a coward.
Wilma Flintstone : I never said he was.
Fred Flintstone : Not in so many words maybe, but you implied it, Wilma.
Barney Rubble : And don't forget, this holdup man had a tremendous advantage, a gun.
Fred Flintstone : Yeah, and he had it pointing right at my back. I-I'll show you exactly how it was, Barney. Uh, stand right here.
[places Barney in front of him and makes a gun with his hand]
Fred Flintstone : Uh, pretend this is a gun, Barney.
Barney Rubble : All right.
Fred Flintstone : And you'll see that I didn't have a...
[Barney flips Fred over]
Fred Flintstone : CHANCE!
-
[while looking at a picture of Sonny Dempstone]
Fred Flintstone : Look at that monster. Anybody that fights him must be pretty brave, right, Wilma?
Wilma Flintstone : Anybody that fights him ought to have his head examined.
Barney Rubble : They do, they do.
[laughs]
Barney Rubble : Right after the fight. Ha ha. In the hospital.
-
Arnold : Say, have the police caught the man who held up up?
Fred Flintstone : Not that I know of, Arnold, but they will.
Arnold : Sure. My dad says it's a good thing for that robber he didn't hold him up. My dad says he'd have tossed him for a loop.
Fred Flintstone : Oh, yeah? Well, you tell your father there was nothing he or anybody else could've done. The guy had a gun.
Arnold : Uh, but...
Fred Flintstone : No buts. He had a gun pointed right at my back. If I'd so much as said "Boo", he'd have plugged me.
Arnold : Gee, I guess Dad isn't aware of the actual circumstances.
Fred Flintstone : He sure isn't. Here, I'll show you exactly how it was. Now... Now you be me.
[makes a gun with his hand]
Fred Flintstone : You pretend I'm holding a gun on you. I've just sneaked up on you, and you're caught by surprise. What can you do? You haven't got a cha...
[Arnold flips Fred over and Fred goes down the slide, lands in a wagon, and crashes into the mailbox]
Wilma Flintstone : Fred! We got those toys for Pebbles! Now stop playing with them before you break something!
-
Gladys Schwartzquartz : Honestly, Wilma, I don't see how you can play bridge so soon after that holdup. After an experience like that, I'd still be trembling all over.
Wilma Flintstone : I've got news for you, Gladys. You know when I was shaking that cup of cactus tea? Well, I wasn't doing it on purpose.
-
[Fred is demonstrating the holdup to one of Wilma's friends]
Fred Flintstone : I'll show you exactly how it happened, Mrs. Schwartzquartz. Now... Now you be me, see?
Wilma Flintstone : Fred.
Fred Flintstone : And... And I'm the crook.
[makes a gun with his hand]
Fred Flintstone : And I got a gun here and I say, "Stick'em up, see?" There's nothing you can do. You haven't got a cha...
[Gladys Schwartzquartz flips Fred over. He crashes through the wall, and into a concrete pole]
Fred Flintstone : Why won't anybody believe me...
[half of a roof falls on him]
Fred Flintstone : When I tell them I didn't have a chance?
