The future scenes are similar to that on The Jetsons (1962) which was also created by Hanna-Barbera.
The setting for the future is from The Jetsons series, and the music score from The Jetsons is used. The title is a spoof of season 1 episode title "The Long, Long Weekend".
There is slowly-building, stomping, thumping, blaring and discordant background music beginning at 18:51 when the gang realizes they are actually lost on Mars. It was used in only one other place throughout the entire 166 episodes, at 22:51 in Season 5's "Itty Bitty Fred", when the reducing formula unexpectedly wears off.
When Fred asks a stewardess what is on TV in the future, she tells him he'll have to watch "Payrock Place" because it's on 24/7 on all three networks. The gag refers to the ABC series PEYTON PLACE, a popular nighttime soap opera of the time that had the distinction of never showing repeats, even during the summer months. Furthermore, it had then just recently expanded from 2 nights a week to 3 nights a week. Hence, the joke implies that it kept expanding and eventually took over the entire TV schedule.
