The title "Here Comes The Judge" is a reference to a recurring sketch on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. In the previous episode, "P.S. I Love You," Geoffrey does a deadpan version of the theme from that sketch.
Judge Robertson, portrayed by Sherman Hemsley, seemingly suffering from dementia, orders Phillip to leave the Banks's home and yells "Lionel, show him the door!" This is a nod to Hemsley's most famous role on The Jeffersons (1975) playing 'George Jefferson', who has a son named 'Lionel.'
During the press conference, Phillip makes a comment that Judge Robertson, played by Sherman Hemsley, looks 10
years younger. In the previous episode, P.S. I Love You (1992)), Hemsley's hair was quite gray. Then, in his first scene during this episode, his hair is still slightly gray. Then, finally, in this scene his hair is completely black, showing that Judge Robertson obviously dyed his hair in order to look younger to more appeal to voters.
