What about the dog?!

Warning: Spoilers
This was a great episode. Melinda helps the little boys cross over and an old man to forgive himself. However, I cant believe they left the poor dog behind. I enjoyed the rest of it, but that part was just wrong.

Wistful

Warning: Spoilers
LOST BOYS is exactly what it sounds like: Melinda comes to the aid of a group of little boys, killed in an orphanage fire, who have been waiting for the return of one of their playmates, who may have escaped the fire. Melinda plays Wendy to their collective Peter Pan. The leader of the group is in fact the Peter Pan surrogate: He has no wish to move on and grow up, as it were. Meanwhile, a developer is intent on tearing down the old structure and replacing it with condos, which will leave the boys with no place to play hide and seek. The resolution contains a great twist, one that few will see coming. Many will recognize Bruce Weitz from HILL STREET BLUES as the developer. This continues a tradition of what I choose to call stunt casting in many of the episodes. They employ an actor or actress who is familiar from the movies or past TV shows.

An Excellent Episode

Warning: Spoilers
One thing that stands out about "GW" is the way in which they highlight child spirits throughout the series, from S1 E2 to the final show of the series. This one is particularly good, with three children who have "lived" in a former orphanage for decades.

Once again, the writers hold off on the surprise until the end, where a supposed death was not a death. The person in question plays a major role in the story line, and the ending supplies resolution for both him and the children. One of the better episodes of the series. The secondary story of Jim's friend was less successful.

So touching Warning: Spoilers
This is my very favorite episode. I love the story of Peter Pan, & I like how the story loosely followed that. All 3 boys (& Homer the dog) are adorable, & as I'm a mom (& a dog lover), they break my heart. I cry every time I watch it, especially when Rat says, "Goodbye, Wendy", & Melinda says, "Goodbye, Peter". I do agree with the other reviewer's comment about leaving Homer behind, though. That IS just wrong, & I think that the only thing that would've made this better is if Homer crossed over with the boys.
