It's the annual bid a basket in Stars Hollow. Miss Patty thinks Lorelai is lonely so she gets two strange men to bid on Lor's basket. She freaks out and runs into the diner, begging Luke to come bid on it. Luke wins the basket and gets to have a picnic with Lorelai... it's actually pretty sweet.

Dean bids on Rorys basket as planned, but uh oh. Jess shows up and out bids him, winning the basket and the picnic date with Rory. She agrees to eat with him despite Dean begging her not to.

Jackson is hinting around that he's ready to move in with Sookie but she's clueless. At the basket event, Kirk ends up winning Sookies basket much to her dismay. She has a talk with Jackson and he finally tells her that he's ready to go to the next level in their relationship. They make up, resulting in him paying pitiful Kirk for the basket so they can eat together. While eating, Jackson proposes to Sookie and she says yes :)

Lane and Henry "break up" and it's just a sad situation all around for Lane. But get used to it, sweet Lane never gets the happiness that she deserves.

Dean and Lorelai have a little talk and it's obvious that he's getting jealous. Lor realizes that Rory is in denial about liking Jess and as a mother, she's pretty concerned. At Friday night dinner, Lor & Rory have another argument about Jess/Dean. Rory storms off after Emily takes Lorelai's side in the argument. Emily gives Lorelai a talk about how she should be more controlling of Rory and Lorelai realizes that she's overreacting about the situation. However, the audience sees at the end of the episode that Rory is really crushing hard on Jess but continues to lie about it. Poor Rory wants to have her cake and eat it too.

Dean is awful yet again

Warning: Spoilers
Have to knock a point off every episode where Rory's awful, possessive, controlling boyfriend is prominent, how anyone can prefer Dean to her other boyfriends is beyond me.
