When Lorelai tries to get Rory to talk about her first kiss with Dean, she mentions the new Lucky on General Hospital (1963), as old Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) left the show to do a role where he gets a "real" name. In reality, two years after this episode aired, Alexis Bledel made her film acting debut opposite Jonathan Jackson in Tuck Everlasting (2002).
While watching Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971), Dean says "he has sisters." Only his sister Clara is ever seen or mentioned again.
In the opening credits Luke asks Lorelai why she didn't leave a tip. It is not customary to tip the proprietor, which Luke winds up pointing out in a future episode when Lorelai says she doesn't have enough for a tip.
First episode not to feature Michel.
