- Sophia Petrillo: I always wondered why blessings wore disguises. If I were a blessing, I'd run around naked.
- Martha: I don't know what to do.
- Sophia Petrillo: That's the point. If you're not sure, you can't change your mind tomorrow. You wanted me to be here for your death. How about letting me be here for your life?
- Sophia Petrillo: It's not whether you agree or disagree with somebody. It's whether you can be there for that person when they need you!
- Martha: You have family and friends and laughter... I, hear the silence.
- Sophia Petrillo: We'll talk, we'll talk all the time, you can come over Christmas, New Year's, every Thursday night, I may not be there, but you could always talk to Rose.
- Blanche Devereaux: I think my eyes are tired.
- Dorothy Zbornak: Your eyes are old. When are you going to admit you need glasses?
- Blanche Devereaux: I don't need glasses, Dorothy, my own mother didn't need glasses until the day she died, and then it seemed silly.
- Martha: I think I've taken care of everything, now, you'll make sure they don't put lipstick on my teeth?
- Sophia Petrillo: Don't worry, I'll take them out and check them personally.
- Blanche Devereaux: I know when my time comes I want someone to put me out of my misery, if I get a terminal illness or, I start to lose my looks.
- Dorothy Zbornak: Just say 'when', Blanche.
- Martha: I'm going to decide when I die.
- Sophia Petrillo: I always thought somebody named God did that.
