Warning: Spoilers
There are two major guest stars here, and while it is an enjoyable episode, it is not necessarily the great one it could have been. What could have been a great plotline for the show is simply just good, disappointing considering the circumstances. It is obvious that the writers didn't really think about details when they decided to bring a Charlie Nylon look-alike (Eddie Albert) into the picture, as Rose definitely would have showed Blanche and Sophia (not to mention the MIA Dorothy) a picture of Charlie. In fact, in one episode, double exposures made Rose think that Blanche and Charlie had been involved in an affair.

Meanwhile, Blanche is visited by her previously unseen son Matthew (Bill Engvall), mentioned on "Golden Girls" once or twice (briefly) who wants to leave a steady career to try his luck as a comic, reminding me of Dorothy's drifter son Michael who worked as a musician but never seemed to keep a steady job. Matthew wants to perform in the talent show that the Golden Palace is hosting, as does Chewy, unaware of the pressures he will suddenly face while standing in front of an audience. Of course, if I had to follow George Burns in a nightclub line-up, I'd be doing exactly what Chewy does here, probably the only funny moment of the show. Even the 97 year old George Burns seems to be scraping for laughs, and that's a sad moment in entertainment history.
