Matt disarms Martin Landau's character Thorp and then goes over to Ma Smalley's Boarding House to meet up with suspect Fly Hoyt and the witness Holly Fanshaw. A gunshot is heard. Matt finds Hoyt in the now deceased Fanshaw's room. His gun on the floor, Hoyt claims he was hit over the head by someone hiding behind the door. Matt then escorts Hoyt back toward a mob being led by Thorp., who inexplicably has his .45 back in his holster, and is shot dead by Matt when he draws against him.
As Holly & Dave step out in the night air in the alley. There is an especially jazzy up-tempo version of "Home on the Range, coming from the saloon. It doesn't fit with time frame.
It has a decidedly modern beat.
