Lucy Shovels It -- Appropriate For This Dud Episode
kgraovac4 December 2023
In Las Vegas, the Carters encounter a lost horse on the side of the road and when they return it to the ranch, discover its owner is none other than Wayne Newton.

This is another one of those dreadful single-camera shows that never work well and always come off as lame. Newton makes his second HERE'S LUCY appearance and third if you count THE LUCY SHOW in 1965. He sings a boring cowboy song in the middle of the episode and at the end he sings a show tune while he, Kim and Craig ride some prancing horses. Apparently this was a very difficult shoot and getting the horses to dance in time with the music was nearly impossible.

Lucy and Harry do a goofy bit where they try and rope a calf, and later they end up shoveling horse-puckey, which Lucy doesn't mind because she thinks it's all part of show business. WHAT???

One of the Season's worst!
