Lucy the Life Saver
kgraovac2 January 2024
After Lucy saves a Chinese man's life, he informs her that custom dictates she is now responsible for him.

This episode has a strange plot. It would seem to me the opposite should be true -- if Lucy saved Mr. Fong, HE is the one who should be looking after HER as repayment. But whatever...

In the opening scene, the reporter refers to 60-year-old Lucille Ball as "young lady" -- TWICE! Geez, I thought we were way past that. Harry steals Lucy's glory and photobombs her and Fong so he can get the Agency some free publicity.

Since Mr. Fong owns a Chinese laundry, this episode seems reminiscent of Season 2's "Lucy the Laundress" with some similar gags. Harry refers to him as a "starch-happy Charlie Chan".

Lucy swings from a chandelier and Harry pretends to be a masked robber in the finale, but it all comes across as just another jumbled episode.
