Great Costumes and Desi Jr as "Ol Blue Eyes"
kgraovac1 December 2023
Lucy's worried about Kim dating a college guy, so she and Harry disguise themselves to spy on the couple at a drive-in movie.

Okay, the plot is not very original but this episode gains points for the outfits Lucy and Harry don, which has the other characters referring to them as "Stone-Age Hippies" and "Middle-aged Swingers". Any offering that has that far-out Sixties vibe always makes me nostalgic. Harry's wig makes him look like a portly Weird Al Yankovic and Lucy's looks to be the same one she wore in the LUCY SHOW episode "Lucy in the Music World".

In the opening scene, Craig does a Frank Sinatra imitation. Desi Jr was never given a lot to do on this show and it's an endearing sequence, even if it has nothing to do with the main story.

This one has a good ending too, where Lucy is revealed to be a hypocrite. Such denouments would become a hallmark of MAUDE just a few years later.

Harry is seen reading a girlie magazine in his den and starts singing "The Impossible Dream" while ogling the centerfold.

Jackie Joseph plays the woman who asks Kim to hold her baby. She was married to Ken Berry at the time and her character's name in the show is "Jackie Berry".
