Director John Florea has some fun with this episode, credited with such shows as SEA HUNT, IRONSIDE and CHIPS. Florea had to have borrowed from SEA HUNT as the villain, dressed in scuba diving gear, shoots his victims with a spear gun. Creepy, campy stuff. Anne Francis never looked better as Honey West, taking on a strange case involving a diamond smuggler, both at sea and on land. The acting is very good here with some familiar faces, including James Best, who could play both dramatic roles and kooky, offbeat characters to perfection. Since this was shot at the sprawling CBS Radford studios at Studio City, CA, some of the scenes were filmed locally on Ventura Boulevard and right out front of the studio on Radford Avenue! Oh, the memories. Look for Bruce, Honey's pet tiger who was a female.
To note for trivia buffs. Co-star John Ericson played Anne Francis's brother in the iconic Spencer Tracy film BAD DAY AT BLACK ROCK (1954). This was EPISODE 4 SEASON 1. It took awhile, but the series is now on dvd.
