There is a good cast in this one. Ed O'Neill, Christopher McDonald and multiple Oscar winner Frances McDormand.
Sonny Dupree (McDonald) is out on parole but he has violated his terms of his parole. He has gone missing and is the prime suspect for the murder of his veteran parole officer.
Dan Colson (O'Neill) is an overzealous parole officer out to get Dupree. He regards Dupree as a dangerous rapist at large.
When Hunter and McCall talk to Dupree's family, friends and employer. They get a picture of a Jekyll and Hyde character as they all describe a friendly loving family man.
Later the cops discover that Dupree is not even a rapist but killed someone in a car accident.
Hunter ends up tracking someone who is killing dangerous criminals out on parole.
Any mystery in this story soon evaporates when Colson shows up. He is more Dirty Harry than Hunter.
McDormand plays a woman who has the hots for Hunter.
