Do I need to review the episode? The title says it. It's a classic episode. Lucy's mother shows up. The whole if so and so isn't going I'm not going but if so and so is going then I'll go is great dialogue. The song at the end how does it not make you cheery? We met Lucy's mother and another piece of the Lucy puzzle it put in place . Suddenly Lucy's ways make more sense . Interesting we meet both mother's in law within a few episodes of each other.
Lucy also becomes bolder in dealing with Ricky with some encouragement from Ethel .
Getting ready and taking off isn't going as planned they are hours later than expected from the early planned start. This has to be one of the most relatable episodes ! All the added items simply won't fit ! Fred has a plan but Lucy says it makes their brand new car look like a laundry wagon and Ethel tops that one " honestly I could have loaded it better with a pitch fork!" Ricky suddenly realizes they can send it ahead it as Ethel points two weeks on the road the items will get their first.
Lucy's mother announces that's a long trip and she gets carsick! Then announces she will go by plane! Ricky strongly agrees! She thinks little Ricky should too. Lucy consultants Ethel and Ricky and they agree. Delightful episode.
The foursome head out - 12 hours after the planned time! Singing California Hear I Come!

I like so many things about this episode but it irritates me every time when Lucy and Ricky are arguing about her mother going . Ricky is upset about and makes the comment that Lucy talked the Mertz's into going ( which is true) but Lucy claims it was their idea instead. I don't know why but it bugs me .
Aside from that it's a good episode . All the things about a long car trip come up . This one also has the added necessity of bringing extra items along. Fred thinks he's got it solved! He ties everything to the car! Lol one of the funniest scenes. Ethel " honestly I could have loaded it better with a pitchfork!"
Ricky then realizes it can all be sent in ahead! Lucy's mom decides to go by plane as she gets carsick! She will go by plane later and little Ricky will go with her.
All that solved the foursome drive away with Lucy's mother, little Ricky and Mrs. Trumble seeing them off.
