At the breakfast table, Ricky is reading a newspaper that is at least 2-1/2 years old. "The New York Daily Bulletin" "Final Edition", with main headline (top right): "Mayor Describes New Building Program to House Civic Offices"; and another headline (top left): "State Boards Investigate Fraud Charges". The same newspaper, with the same front-page photographs in the same positions, can be identified in at least four other episodes two seasons earlier: The Business Manager (1954), Lucy Cries Wolf (1954), The Matchmaker (1954), and Mr. and Mrs. T.V. Show (1954). One interesting difference is that, in 'Lucy Cries Wolf', a back-page headline - much darker than anything else on the page - apparently has been pasted on for Lucy to see while Ricky is reading his front page: "Thugs Rob Housewife", the article which provides the central idea for that episode's plot.
When Lucy calls Ethel for help (after spending much more on new furniture that Ricky had budgeted for), she picks up the phone, dials 0, and says, "Operator, may I have SChuyler 4 8098, New York City, please." That SChuyler 4 (724) telephone exchange is different from the MUrray Hill 5 and CIrcle 7 exchanges of Lucy and Ricky's former telephone numbers, even though the Ricardos and the Mertzes lived in the same apartment building.
Mary Jane Croft and Parley Baer had recurring roles on another show, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, at the same time as this show.
