This episode was also filmed in color with Desi's home movie camera.
Lucy explains to Ricky that her family comes from "the wee town of Kildoonan in Northern Scotland. It's between Golspey and Ullapool." Except for the slight difference in spelling between Kildoonan (Lucy's reference and the sign on the Inn in the dream sequence) and Kildonan, all three are towns in Scotland, though they are hardly arranged as Lucy describes. Golspie is on the Eastern coast, and Ullapool is roughly 50 miles away on the Western coast, both in Northern Scotland. As for Kildonan, there are several places with this name, but none is between Golspie and Ullapool. Two are on Scottish Islands off the West coast. Kildonan, Sutherland is on the mainland of Northern Scotland, but is about 20 miles North of Golspie, and around 50 miles NorthEast of Ullapool.
When Larry Orenstein auditioned the first song he wrote for this episode, Desi told him to play the role of Mayor Ferguson. Why? Desi said that nobody would be able to sing the song better than Orenstein himself.
In the original script for this episode, Lucy gets telegram from Kildoonan at the end, after she wakes up from her dream. The telegram says that the McGillicuddys are an old family from Kildoonan but there are none left. It also says that Kildoonan would "prepare a special dinner" for Lucy if she came to visit the town. Still influenced from her recent dream, Lucy instantly shoots down the offer, saying, "I'll be the main course!"
These are the official song titles of the original songs created for this episode: "'Tis Nae a Braw Bricht Nicht," "A McGillicuddy Is Here," "I'm in Love with a Dragon's Dinner," "Two Heads Are Nae Better Than One," and "The Dragon Waltz."
