Ricky discovers that Lucy has hidden some new furniture in the kitchen, and corners her there to confront her about it. Her only escape is through the kitchen-to-living-room opening, and she has to climb down by stepping first on the desk, then on the chair to get to the floor. When the camera pulls back to a wide shot, four brackets can be seen holding the chair to the floor to avoid tipping and falling as Lucy, followed by Ricky, quickly exit the kitchen by this unusual route.
Note that when Lucy runs through the Mertzes' living room, in an attempt to reach her kitchen, it's not the full set but rather a corner mock-up. This is most notable due to the fact that when Lucy enters the apartment and proceeds towards the Mertzes' kitchen, the door leading to the kitchen is to stage right. In all other episodes with the full Mertzes' living room set, the door to the kitchen is to stage left.
This is the first episode in which we get to see the full extent of the Ricardos' new apartment. Notice that Little Ricky's new bedroom is located peculiarly off the Ricardos' bedroom, and has no entrance of its own to the hallway, meaning one has to pass through Lucy and Ricky's bedroom to get to it. Also notice that although it's claimed this apartment is bigger than their old one, in reality, the new apartment is only marginally bigger at best. The story-line in this episode for Lucy wanting new furniture seems redundant, as the Ricardos received new furniture earlier this season, in Redecorating (1952).
However, there is a purpose to buying new furniture, as the series' new art director felt the Ricardos' current furniture fit badly in the new apartment. The furniture bought in this episode for the new apartment did not satisfy the art director, thus leading to the Ricardos getting even newer furniture in Redecorating the Mertzes' Apartment (1953).

Lucy is reading the May 1953 issue of "Woman's Home Companion", which featured an interview with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz about the recent birth of their son Desi Arnaz Jr.. The same magazine previously appeared in Lucy Hires a Maid (1953), The Ricardos Change Apartments (1953) and Lucy Is a Matchmaker (1953).
