The "lives in" look has its limits.

Warning: Spoilers
Lucy reaches her Waterloo in this classic episode, one of the best of the first season or any season for that matter. This episode is where Lucy has had enough of Ricky's desire to keep the apartment with a lived-in look by dropping his coach wherever and tossing the newspaper onto the floor. She creates a line that she can't cross unless he has to leave and this results in her not being able to use the bathroom. So there's a starving Cuban and a dirty brunette, as Lucy says herself, unable to fix her hair, and this becomes one of the best battle of the sexes sitcom episodes ever. However, the real highlight of the show is Ricky doing "A Big Straw Hat" number in rehearsal at the Tropicana with cleaning lady Maggie (Hazel Boyne). Lucy's revenge against Ricky takes a twist when a magazine wants to do a story on Ricky's home life. Of course Ethel and Fred support Lucy and Ricky based on their own gender and habits, and that makes you episode all the funnier. A true classic.

Priceless comedy!

This episode presents Lucy as one of the all-time greats in comedy! Her work as the hillbilly slob is hilarious! Just thinking about this episode makes me laugh. Ricky is messy, and Lucy is fed up. When she learns a photographer is coming by to take pictures of the apartment, she decides to teach Ricky a lesson. It backfires, as usual, but the whole experience is wonderful and I personally believe it to be up there with Vitemeatavegimin and the "chocolate factory" episode in terms of her best work.

Quintessential boys versus girls I love Lucy episode or actually husband and wife conflict. Many many shows have copied the old tape the room in half routine. Lucy's revenge backfires as usual and it's funny.

Never a dull moment!

Warning: Spoilers
This episode never has a lull in the action or humor. Starting with a disagreement between Lucy and Ricky. Lucy stands up for herself and expecting Ricky to at least clean up after himself. They end up dividing the apartment and Ethel and Fred take sides . There is also a funny scene where both answer the same phone and Ricky does the listening while Lucy does the talking. He wants his manager to get him in a magazine . When it happens Ricky of course expected a clean and tidy apartment. Lucy decides to get even with Ricky and gets Ethel to help. The results are among the funniest of the series. Lucy turns herself and the apartment into a complete embarrassment for Ricky. It backfires on Lucy when she finds out what magazine it is the embarrassment is on her .

Lucy and Ethel dressing up and acting like people down on the farm is the highlight of the episode and shows off the talent and skill of Vivian Vance as well as Lucille Ball . Easily the funniest early season one episodes.
