The appearance of Arthur Q. Bryan (as Mr. Chambers) is a rare opportunity to see in person the voice of Elmer Fudd.
Barbara Pepper, who plays the flapper in the dark dress, was a finalist for the role of Ethel. She was a long-time friend of Lucille Ball, and later played Doris Ziffel on Green Acres.
Fred tells Lucy that he last performed the show he's putting together for Ricky's club opening at the Palace Theater in 1927. Lucy is impressed, thinking it to be Manhattan's famous Palace Theater which was one of the countries most prestigious vaudeville venues. Fred, however, bursts her bubble when his says it was the Palace Theater in Jamestown, New York. This reference comes directly from Lucille Ball's own life for as a child in Jamestown, New York she grew to love vaudeville by watching shows at the Palace. This lead to her wanting to get in show business. It's also worth noting at this point that in the series it has not been established that Lucy Ricardo too hails from Jamestown, New York hence her not mentioning to Fred that it was her hometown.
