The actor who speaks to Ricky in Spanish when Lucy is trapped in the trunk, calls him "Desi" right before he leaves. He says "Bueno, Desi, que yo tengo que ir...." Which translates to "Well, Desi, I have to go..."
Lucy's birthday is 6 August 1911 (as was 'Lucile Ball''s in real life). She was born in Jamestown, New York. Lucy Ricardo's birthday was August 6, 1921 ands she was born in West Jamestown, New York, (a fictitious town used in the episode "The Passports" to explain why Lucy could not find her passport when going to Europe). Her birth year was always kept secret as a running gag on the show, but it was revealed in the aforementioned episode "The Passport".
Helen used to call Lucy 'droopy drawers' because of her sagging bloomers. In her posthumously published autobiography, Lucille Ball revealed that this was her childhood nickname as well.
Dr. Peterson was named after Lucy stepfather Ed Peterson. For a couple of years as a child in Jamestown Lucy lived with Peterson's mother and father. Lucy did not have many happy memories of this time as Grandma Peterson was strictly religious and frowned upon Lucille's fiercely independent nature including her show business aspirations. Lucy also disliked Ed Peterson as he was an alcoholic who did not treat Lucy mother Dede, as well as Lucy and her brother Fred, right. However, in interviews later in her life Lucy admitted that Peterson was the one her encouraged her to pursue show business by encouraging her to perform in the many revue shows his Shriners club put on over the years. Dede Ball eventually would divorce Peterson.
Lucille Ball was claustrophobic in real life so she hated being stuck inside the trunk, but she was always game to try whatever the script demanded of her.
