This opening episode of season 5 for In The Heat Of The Night has Denise Nicholas's son Rugg Williams witnessing a shooting of a friend and a local
drug dealer by some button men from Jackson who want to take over the crack
trade in Sparta. These guys want to make a statement and they spray the house
with machine gun fire killing both occupants. But Williams whos is crouched low
in his friend's car is unseen.
