This was truly a cringe worthy episode. I don't know if it's because it was made in the 80s but having a rape victim proposition the suspect who raped her just didn't feel right. What police officer would put a victim up to that? Also, the episode was just unbalanced with comedy and drama. This episode has not aged well.

Bubba in a jackpot

Crime hits home with the Sparta, PD as Bubba Skinner is accused of rape. The
first time his colleagues among Sparta's finest found an unconscious Alan Autry outside a road house where a woman accused him. She swung and ,hit him
with a foreign object thinking he had just attacked her from behind.
The second woman was questioned by Howard Rollins as to a rumored unreported rape and she said it was Autry.
In all this is a very ambitious DA who doesn't get along with Chief Gillespie looking to embarrass the police. Christopher Allport plays this most slimy prosecutor.
I wasn't crazy about making former football star Autry a rape suspect. Who would believe he'd have to force himself on anybody?

Must be Bubba's turn.

As good as Ernest Dixon is at playing the big mouthed bad guy they used him too many times. And Cops being falsely accused of crimes has been done to death although Sweet accused of taking bribes was a good episode. But this episode is watchable even though you should have figured out who the mean guy was quite early.
