Character quote error
janieshaneyfelt27 February 2019
The character quote goof where it states that the Chief used the first name "Paul" for the Duggan character I believe is not a goof. I have listened, and watched lips. It sounds to me in the Chief's southern drawl that he said "po' ole Duggan".

The chief returns

Carroll O'Connor is back as the police chief of Sparta and his first order of business is the investigation of the murder of his temporary replacement Joe Don Baker and a few other crimes.

It all leads to a white supremacist group that the Late Chief Dugan's nephew was involved with. The real target is a high profile reverend played by Joe Seneca who is a hometown hero of the national civil rights movement. Seneca is visiting Sparta and it's a media event.

Very nice portrayal by Joe Seneca of a Martin Luther King like leader who would be King if he had lived to be a senior citizen.
